What a week it has been at FinTech Meetup. John, Kay and I were in Las Vegas talking to investors, vendors, banks and lenders alike. There were between 5,000 to 7,000 fintech people compressed in 3 days of conversations. The energy was palpable and everyone showed up, except for the CFPB, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The CFPB has been gutted by the Trump Administration and specifically DOGE, or the Department of Government Efficiency, a play on word for the DOGE coin popularized by its leader Elon Musk.
We are less about politics but more about launching any financial products instantly. As we were sitting in some of the general sessions put up by JPMorgan Chase, we quickly realized that embedded finance is on people’s minds the most this year.
However, it was all about payments, but what about lending, issuing credits? I wish there were more conversations around how Affirm, Snap Finance and some of the large BNPL or Point of Sale financing companies are doing. If you want to check out our embedded finance software, please head on over here.
We had a great time and met up with our board and much discussion about our growth strategy and how to implement some of our sales metrics gave us the extra push to come back into our offices and deliver.
What’s most exciting about this week’s v2.8.0 release is our Rules Studio 2.0! After weeks of testing and a bit of a delay to make room for one of our client’s product launches, it is finally here.
Rules Studio 2.0 has a brand new look and feel. We added many new features and a brand new way of editing rules, navigating through the decision trees and implementing new variables and models. Our new Rules Studio is now on par with our Product Studio in terms of design and usability. These two power tools are what makes LendAPI the only solution in the industry where you can launch your financial products instantly.
We have so much work to do to achieve our vision but we are inching closer and delivering key features and optimizing our user experience to make launching new products even easier.

LendAPI Platform Release Notes - v2.8.0
Overall Platform Enhancements
Rules Studio
At last, our new Rules Studio is released with tons of new features and enhanced navigation.
We have a brand new canvas area where you can zoom in and out and focus on a specific part of the decisioning path.
We also implemented a new way of handling node properties. You can double click on each node for editing of a particular rule and the right hand side of the rule studio also displays the content of each node in a concise format.
We added new ways to interact with the decision tree. We added visual elements to highlight nodes, identity the decision process by lighting up the decisioning path of a particular test. This will guide our rules engineers to better understand how their decisions work in a visually responsive way.
We’ve also added visual cues for errors or missing nodes that needed to be added before a rule can be fully formed and completed. These visual cues will give clues to our rules designers to help them to have a full understanding of what’s needed before a full functional rule set that can be completed.
You can now rename rules on the right hand side panel. You can also add constraints and validations to each end-node of a decision branch. We also implemented a brand new way of setting status, outcomes of each end node from any decision branch. We made this process more intuitive.
We also implemented a brand new way of connecting and adding nodes within a decisioning path. We added a zoom in and out feature to help you focus on the area of the branch where you need to address the most.
We have a new “Test Run” feature that gives you the ability to run your entire decision tree before promoting it into production. When the test is completed, the decision path where that decision went through lights up in various colors to indicate various outcomes of the decisioning process.
Browsing through the various versions of the decision tree is also easy to understand. You can browse through the list of previous versions, enabling a previously used version of the decision tree to be the default decision tree with a toggle. We made it even easier to use.
Product Studio
We added an enhancement where you can set minimum values in fields which you can use to build your products.
We updated all the Font Families used for a particular product and also made sure the same font is used in all of the internally developed widgets such as LendAPI’s OTP Widget.
We updated some of the language used in the LendAPI Mobile OTP Widget.
Documentation Management
We implemented a versioning view in Document Library to allow for better version control.
Application Management
We are displaying all data available from third parties in the application view whether the data point was used in decision making or not.
Third Party Data Management
We implemented a new usage counter for our LendAPI KYC and KYB products.
Errata
We fixed a ton of small issues relating to various aspects of our platform. Too many to mention and too small to notice. But we are fixing them as we see them.
What’s Next?
We are working on something big and it’s called “Underwrite AI”. This is an add on tool for our AI agent to interact with our clients credit policy. You may have seen a few of our preview videos posted on our social media pages but it will be released in the following week.
What’s unique about our Underwrite AI tool is that it's a standalone micro-service that can be called independently via an API.
We also have something big coming to our Model Studio which will help you implement any type of model in a container.
